In studio maternity milk bath
When planning out Kat’s maternity session, she suggesting some milk bath photos! A maternity milk bath photo session sounded great to me! I had just updated my full bath upstairs and knew the tub would be just perfect.
I’ve used many different ingredients to get a good milky look but I think this session had the best one I’ve tried yet. I used dehydrated milk, be warned, add your milk AFTER you are done filling the tub! I added some while it was still filling and it was bubble city. It was very easy to use other than some user error. I used to prefer coconut milk but the dehydrated milk required much less mixing.
When selecting flowers you have to be careful of which ones will float nicely at the top, so you can’t get anything too big or heavy. I usually like to select a bouquet from a local vender. This time I decided to check out the local Illinois Valley shop Petals by Peyton. I really love the selection she had and really enjoyed all the plants in the shop.
Add the milk, flowers, beautiful mama and BAM! You have a gorgeous milk bath session. I loved how the natural light worked with us too, I was a little nervous never shooting in my bathroom before! It worked out beautifully and I can’t wait to shoot more maternity milk bath photography sessions at my in home studio in Ottawa, IL.
