Starved Rock Park Blooms

I absolutely love photographing at Starved Rock State Park, its just a few minutes away from where I live, its such a magical area and its so beautiful!

I've been wanting to shoot in a flower field since winter but I didn't know of any around here. I thought about asking some flower farms I've worked with when I saw a post on one of the local travel pages about the bluebonnets. You would think living here so long and loving to visit the parks I would already know of the flower bloom, but nope.

My family headed out, I really expected just a small patch but they were so endless! Everyone enjoyed our time there so much. We were careful not to make any new paths but utilize ones already created, though each child definitely picked a flower or two at first lol. They ended up snuggling and gently petting the flowers when we explained picking hurt the flowers.

I think its safe to say we have a new annual tradition now, we may even head back tonight to get our fill before they're all gone!

We all had a lot of fun but Fae couldn't get through the experience without showing some sass as per usual!
